The Stockholm-based Björn Engelmann has been mastering audio since 1980. With an exceptional dedication that has led to over 50,000 songs mastered, including more Top 10 Hits than anyone else in Scandinavia.
It all started with vinyl mastering at Polar Studios. From there, his newfound passion led him to the Stockholm-based Cutting Room, where he currently resides as owner and Chief Mastering Engineer.
Over the years, Björn’s superb skills and attention to detail have earned him a fine reputation among major record labels, artists, producers and engineers. His work spans a wide range of genres, including pop, rock, jazz, R&B, classical, metal and hip hop. And he’s worked with a ton of celebrated artists, including ABBA, Håkan Hellström, Amanda Bergman, Laleh, and Tove Lo.
In 2017, Björn was awarded the Most Valuable Player award for his awesome influence on the sound of countless artists and producers, as well as for the tremendous role he’s played contributing to Sweden’s success within the global music industry.
