What is this all about?
It’s primarily about reminding people of what Denniz Pop did for the Swedish music industry, and helping continue his legacy by supporting aspiring writers, producers, and artists financially.
Who can apply?
Anyone who writes, produces or performs music can apply to the Rookie Awards. The other two other categories (MVP and Grand Prize) are honorary awards open for nomination by the public.
I’m under 18, can I still apply?
Yes you can.
Do I have to be Swedish to apply?
You must be a citizen of either Sweden, Finland, Norway or Denmark to apply for Rookie Award Songwriter/Producer and Artist Band.
For The International Rookie Award, everyone is allowed to apply. No matter nationality and/or citizenship outside of Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.
Can I submit my music at any time?
No. DPA is only open for entries under a limited period each year.
Is there a cash prize for the MVP and Grand Prize as well?
No. Just the honor and an award sculpture.
Who decides who wins?
The jury.
What happens if I win?
You will be invited to the awards ceremony in Stockholm where you will receive your award and prize money. And, your life will never be the same.
