Denniz Pop Awards Announces New Jury Members

Swedish House Mafia, Ilya Salmanzadeh, and Noonie Bao

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – April 3, 2025 – The Denniz Pop Awards, celebrating its 12th edition on June 10th, is pleased to announce the addition of new esteemed members to its jury. Icons Swedish House Mafia, producer/songwriter Ilya Salmanzadeh (Ariana Grande, Coldplay, Taylor Swift), and songwriter Noonie Bao (Charli XCX, Katy Perry, Avicii) will join the jury, bringing the legacy of Denniz Pop into the future.

Denniz Pop wrote history and has always been a role model for us growing up, especially since he had a big heart for dance music early on,” says Swedish House Mafia. “Being able to highlight new voices that can shape and create the music of the future is a given for us!

These new jury members represent a generation of creators inspired by Denniz Pop’s groundbreaking work, who continue to shape Swedish music internationally.

I was thrilled when I was asked to sit on the jury,” says Noonie Bao. “Denniz Pop’s name was on the back of practically every single I bought and listened to endlessly in the 90s. I look forward to being part of highlighting the new generation of songwriters and producers!”

Noonie Bao, a Stockholm-based songwriter, has collaborated with Charli XCX, Sam Smith, Katy Perry, Camila Cabello, and Avicii.

Ilya Salmanzadeh, known for his work with Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and Kendrick Lamar, states, “It feels incredibly big to be part of the jury this year. Denniz Pop opened the door for all of us, and being able to help celebrate the next generation – and perhaps help pass on the torch – feels both important and very fine.

Swedish House Mafia, consisting of Steve Angello, Axwell, and Sebastian Ingrosso, has taken electronic dance music to new heights. “It is an honor to be asked to sit on the jury for the Denniz Pop Awards together with other pioneers in Swedish music culture,” says Swedish House Mafia.

The Denniz Pop Awards is now taking the next big step forward with a long-term plan to further strengthen its position as Sweden’s foremost platform for tomorrow’s pop music,” says founder Jacob Schulze. “With a focus on innovation, collaboration, and mentorship, our goal is to inspire, support, and shape the musical legends of the future, both here at home and internationally.

The Denniz Pop Awards has recognized talents like Tove Lo, Smith & Thell, and Ellen Krauss. Past Grand Prize winners include Swedish House Mafia (2013) and Ilya Salmanzadeh (2024).
