In June 2016 the Denniz Pop Awards arranged a speed dating session in collaboration with SKAP - “Denniz Pop Awards Backstage”. New promising music talent where given the chance to network and play their stuff to some of the industry’s most influential profiles, giving feedback and tips.
Some 70 selected young talented songwriters, producers and artists got to meet, with 17 music executives daytime at the Denniz Pop Awards venue. The speed dates were conducted with the help of two sets of Urbanears headphones connected to one device on which the music was played. During the short sessions representatives from Sony Music Sweden, Refune Music Group, Polydor Sweden/Universal Music, TEN Music Group, Kobalt Music, Warner Music Sweden, Cow Pow, Warner Chappell, 20/20 Records and BMG listened and offered their expertise feedback.
After the speed dating sessions the participants were invited to Spotify HQ for a meet and greet and panel talks to highlight some valuable keys to making it in music online.
Why do we take on activities like this? Our purpose is to allow opportunities, help and strengthen as many new music talents as possible in order for Sweden’s international pop music heritage to go on - the legacy Denniz Pop once started.
